Critical Mass comes to Kettering!
The ever-versatile church space at St Michael's was the venue for a Lenten celebration of Critical Mass - the diocesan series of Eucharists aimed at young people from 11 to 18. Exploring the theme of the Temptations, this remarkable service played on what it means to be 'The Weakest Link', and introduced about eighty young people to new ways of praying and celebrating. 
An exercise in 'weaving together' our intercessions did just that, as groups of young people shared their prayers and coloured string to join themselves together as God's family.
At the heart of the service, of course, was the opportunity to break bread and share wine, and, when the service concluded, there was also the opportunity to share pizza, brought in piping hot from a nearby restaurant.
Tim Sledge, the former Mission Enabler (now Vicar of Romsey) led the service, assisted by Paul Niemiec, the Youth Officer. Tim preached and presided.... and also stayed to help put the church back to normal and to clear up!
